Door to HealthCare Announces Final Push to Enroll Uninsured Western Marylanders

“HealthConnectNow!” and community outreach efforts announced before Feb. 15 open enrollment deadline to enroll through Maryland Health Connection.

Columbia, MD – The Door to HealthCare, a program of Healthy Howard, Inc., announced its efforts to help as many residents of Western Maryland as possible get covered through Maryland Health Connection before Open Enrollment ends on Feb. 15. This includes a HealthConnectNow! enrollment fair and continued outreach efforts to assist residents.

The Door to HealthCare will host a “HealthConnectNow!” enrollment fair at Howard Community College, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Duncan Hall, Columbia, MD 21044, on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to enroll uninsured Marylanders in quality, affordable health coverage through Maryland Health Connection. The enrollment fair is one of the final HealthConnectNow! events being held in partnership with the state’s health insurance marketplace to educate individuals and families about their health coverage options under the federal Affordable Care Act.

Certified representatives of Healthy Howard’s Door to HealthCare, as well as insurance carriers and brokers, will be on hand to answer questions and to help attendees see what financial assistance they qualify for and enroll in health coverage.

Those enrolling in health coverage should bring the following:

  • Social Security Numbers for you and family members (or document numbers for any legal immigrants who need insurance)
  • Birthdates and general information about you and your family members who are also applying for health coverage
  • Employer and income information for everyone in your family (for example, pay stubs, W-2 forms, or wage and tax statements)
  • Policy numbers for any current health insurance
  • Information about any job-related health insurance available to your family

In addition to the HealthConnectNow! enrollment fair, the Door continues to work with more than a dozen local partners throughout the Western Region to connect Marylanders to coverage. With multiple locations in each county, the Door and its partners will be continuing to work with consumers at their offices, and other locations such as libraries and other community locations before the end of open enrollment on Feb. 15.
